For those of us that were born and raised here, we remember going to The Enchanted Forest, a theme park for young children with a Nursery Rhyme theme.  Once they closed and subsequently sold the land, it then went on to become the Enchanted Forest Shopping Center.  Clark's Elioak Farm starting purchasing the deteriorated attractions and refinishing the individual fairy tale buildings and characters back to their original glory, and now has become the home to the New Enchanted Forest Experience.  That amenity complemented with their petting zoo is a great day to spend with young children.

The Turf Valley Golf Course and Resort is on the western side of Ellicott City.  And Patapsco State Park also runs through the county and has entrances in Ellicott City.
